Dragos Gruia joined the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science in June 2024 as a Research Fellow under the supervision of Prof. Fausto Giunchiglia. He did his PhD research in the Digital Health and Clinical Neurology at Imperial College London.

His research focuses on developing digital health platforms that allow remote diagnosis and monitoring of patients with neurological disorders from the home setting. He combines the digital health data with blood biomarkers and brain imaging to obtain an integrative multimodal approach to mapping a patient’s recovery trajectory over time.

At Trento, he will develop machine learning methods that improve the quality of the data obtained from digital health platforms through techniques such as real-time Bayesian optimisation and skeptical learning.
